Stephanie Ferrario shows emerging artists from all over the world who have not yet been exhibited in the UK or Europe. “My artists don’t have representations yet in the UK, but their work is so strong, they can easily exist next to locally and internationally established artists.” Stephanie exhibits five shows a year and includes artist talks, dinners and studio visits. “I want to make contemporary art more accessible. The fact of the matter is most people don’t know that much about art, and most people do not have a vast art history background. I am building a salon where artists talk about their work, there is a conversation between them and the public. I want it to be challenging, interesting and a real two way conversation so that my guests go away feeling enriched. The salon is a mix between a conversation platform, education and a gallery - between sub-culture and tradition. A meeting place for all kinds of different people, being art lovers, artists, art buyers, collectors or newcomers to the arts. Stephanie studied economics and history of art in Paris and London, worked as a marketing specialist at Bertelsmann before embarking on a course in curating contemporary art at St.Martin’s School of Art & Design. Stephanie recently worked with Tim Jefferies at Hamiltons Gallery for two years before setting up on her own.
